Composting appeal for donations

Reckless waste disposal accelerates environmental degradation in Myanmar/Burma. Children, in particular, often drink water from polluted rivers or breathe in toxic fumes from burnt plastic. To counteract this, the Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation has launched the “Green and Clean Schools” project. Pupils plant trees and are taught how and why to recycle waste. To attract supporters for the project, we developed a donation mailing that is fully compostable. The personal request to support the project with a donation and the request to compost the mailing immediately afterwards was not printed on a separate cover letter but directly on the pre-perforated and thus easy-to-cut envelope made of natural paper. This envelope only contained a payment slip for transferring a donation to create as little waste as possible.
